The Red Series..

This series is all red. Images of nudity, one character, two, women. It came after the women series done in 2005. The red put a distance between the viewer and those erotic images, women with their power and their weakness, their faked intimacy with the spectator, the seduction game they play, between submission and aggression, are they victims, are they the prey or the hunter? The prey of a society of men's desires, willingness. It's a testimony and an appeal, the borderlines of erotic, the images are not about art, but desire, then through the painting and the canvas, the become what they were not supposed to be, about beauty and no more sexuality. The monochromatic makes them unrealistic and tough so realist. Erotic images are about power, hidden behind a veil of beauty, but above the desire, remains the use of a human being whom fakes the real love, the one perhaps they don't have for themselves.
